CLIFF HOUSE
This dramatic concept was born as an interpretation of a natural landscape form through a series of paintings and 3D visualisations. The farthest cliff on the photo below (Tawharanui Reserve) became an inspiration for a fast plein air watercolour sketch.
Later, looking at the picture where the solid mass of the cliff withstands endless impact of the winds and tides an idea of a architectural concept came up.
The larger oil painting at the right served well to the analysis of the volumes, their contours and color palette to accent the effects and memories of being at the beach.
